Dave Thomas began his career in 1980, painting offshore raceboats for Seahawk Marine. In 1986 he went to Avance Powerboats. He has also painted custom designs for Apache and Magnum.

 

In 1995 he started Renegade Super Grafix, Inc. with the goal to achieve the highest quality in workmanship in the yacht refinishing industry.

 

He developed distinctive techniques in building tents and extraction systems to achieve the cleanest paint job possible. Renegade uses the AwlGrip, Alexseal and DuPont paint systems. 

Experimenting over the years with blending reducers based on seasonal temperatures resulted in allowing for the best paint flow and the highest gloss attainable.

 

The methods he developed in fairing, primer and paint applications have significantly reduced the average completion time from fairing to finish paint on new construction.
